If you want to be a great lawyer, you should possess high IQ levels, strong analytical and advocacy skills, and should be able to understand your clients’ objectives.

Effective communication is the key, and in order to be successful in business, you have to be a great communicator. You should be able to communicate clearly and effectively. It’s not that you have to possess skills like that of great orators or public speakers, rather you should be able to communicate what you do, and how you do.

1. Analytical skills

A good lawyer should be able to absorb a great amount of information, then analyze and organize those in a logical manner. If you want to be successful, you would be required to remember the details of more than one case at the same time. Again, if more than one law applies to a particular situation, you should be able to find out the best argument for the advancement of the case.

A successful lawyer is always creative. He or she should know how to tactfully present or mold a case or scenario before the court. He or she should be able to use creative words to woo the courtroom.
