Prepare homemade christmas gifts from ordinary things and share happiness and joy with your friends and family in this holiday.

Are you getting sick of giving those old store gifts that everyone else does? Check out these homemade Christmas gifts that’ll cheer up your loved ones more than anything.

1. Chalkboard Mug

This mug is quite good, it’s normal from the top half, but from the bottom half, it’s chalkboard. So you can write new messages on it everyday. It’s a perfect gift for spending the morning with fun and cheer. Make sure you gift this item packed with colorful chalk.

You’ll need:

A porcelain mug, a painter’s tape, a soft bristle paint brush, 1 container of Pebeo Porcelain chalkboard paint.

How to:

Your mug should be clean and dry. Mask off the part of the mug you don’t want to paint with the painter’s tape. Apply the paint with a soft bristle brush. You can wipe the paint away with a wet paper towel if there is any mistake and try again. Remove the tape as soon as you are done with painting. Make sure to let the paint dry for 24 hours and, bake your mug for 35 minutes at 300 F. After baking, keep the mug inside for a while until it gets cool. After you bake it, the paint will not get removed whether you wash it in a dishwasher or heat it in a microwave.

2. Teacup Candles

This is a good way to transform a teacup you don’t use anymore, but that’ll look really pretty, and it’ll also look worthy of being a gift. You can gift it to children and even adults.

You’ll need:

Tin can, wax, wick, teacups, tape, scissors.

How to:

Put the chunks of wax in the tin can. You can mix some new wax with the scented old leftover wax. Put the tin can in the middle of a saucepan of boiling water. This way the wax will melt evenly. Cut a piece of wick slightly longer than the teacup. Tape one end to the bottom of the cup and wrap the other end around a pencil or pen. When the wax has melted, pour it into the cup. Let the wax cool for at least 2-3 hours and then cut the wicks. You can add little more scented wax at the end.

3. Homemade Bread and Jam Gift

You can pack a bread and jam as a gift in such way that it’ll become a gift made by professionals and look store bought. It includes labels for both of the items, so you can decorate them and present them to any person you love.

You’ll need:

Red and white food trays, bread pans, mini jam jars, wax or parchment paper, red and white bakers twine, red and white patterned tissue paper, red ribbon, labels.

How to:

Create and print the labels. Use tissue papers to line the food trays. Cut the patterned tissue paper into a rectangle shape larger than the size of the tray. Wrap each mini loaf of bread with wax or parchment paper. Tie it up with a bit of Baker's Twine and apply a bread label. Put the jam into the mini jars, you may use a spoon. Tie a sweet ribbon around the neck of the bottle and apply the jam label.

4. Scrabble Ornament

The beauty of this gift is that you can make it spell whatever you want. Popular holiday messages include Peace, Hope, Love, Joy, Snow, and Elf, but you can use your imagination, or the recipient's name, or make a few ornaments that make up a bigger message.

You’ll need:

Scrabble letters and some scrabble trays, a saw, glue, twine or ribbon.

How to:

Glue the chosen letters into the piece of scrabble tray. Make small 2 holes in the center for passing the twine or ribbon. Stick the twine or ribbon with the tray and apply glue. Let the glue dry a bit and your ornaments are ready!
